Snowbird – Short Film

I’ve recently watched Sean Baker’s new short “Snowbird” and was captivated by his use of the iPhone 6. It’s not the first time he’s shot a film on a mobile. His feature “Tangerine,” which was released last year, had won several awards and deservedly so. Now, with this short, Sean continues to thrill us with amazing camera work and acting performances, also mostly from non actors, and tells us an imaginative yet beautiful and simple story with a cute little twist at the end, a journey of self discovery, if you will, one slice of cake at a time.

We ought to see more filmmakers out there brace the technology of today and make these types of films, which I believe can be made on a minuscule budget, because most of us do have cameras on our mobiles (so no excuses) and with the right creative team on board we certainly can create film magic, or in this case, I phone magic.

Enjoy the film.
